Nicola Sturgeon finally begins the process of separation!
Meanwhile I'm reading Kezia Dugdale's recent critical comments re the rolling out of universal credit that will punish/"hurt" many poor people in Scotland. Dugdale asking the question, "What did they do to deserve this kinda treatment"? Answer: I'm sure it was “Listening to unionist cretons like you about being ‘better together’, so that they ended up with a Tory government they didn’t vote for but which was imposed on them by the people in a much larger country, and which has a long track record of imposing brutal, callous welfare policies on the poor for largely ideological reasons, and which has entirely, predictably continued to do so”.
It’s not rocket science, hen! Nuff said!

Question is would you go for a hard border or a sort of knit-one-purl-one job?

Would the Edinburgh Fringe still be full of English students wanking off about their unfortunate aristo childhoods marooned in third-rate public schools afflicted by Tourettes and Aspergers that forced them to apply to St Andrews?

Would English media still be full of Laura Kuenssberg, or would she be sent back to Partick Thistle for a name re-fit?

I'm only askin'. After all this is a world in which the best actor in England - Ian McDiarmid - is very obviously a Scotsman. It's a world in which we not only can't untangle ourselves from the EU, we aren't even sure who constitutes we, or what we all want. And you want to untangle yourselves from us and then to tangle yourselves into the European Union despite there being at least two countries which absolutely would veto such a move anyway .........

How would it all happen? How could it? Without serious medical acceleration you can't hope to live that long.

I want to see it happen for you. I'm all for self-determination, but FFS Balmoral is the centre of the known universe. Like Harvey Keitel I wish you crazy kicks luck, but eventually you're going to have to stop looking at those comparison websites.

Aye Devongone! Balmoral? The Scottish highland home of the "chuckling queen" eh! Nuff said from a Scot Nat viewpoint and never forgotten! We need a massive Land Reform plan up here and maybe the "blast off" point will be when Lizzie finally relinquishes her throne for whatever reason and hopefully a significant proportion of our population start seriously opposing any endorsement of the next royal dynasty full of "hangers on" and public money grabbers!! A case of "normal service resumes" - no thanks!!!

Seriously I don't see the rest of the UK offering you a referendum IF we leave the EU. And the biggest reason will be that you continue to say you want to join the EU. Imagine the protracted nature of the negotiations on the Scottish hard, soft, crazy border. We'll be back to the reivers in no time.

And the EU won't want you anyway, because all your institutions and way of life are so woven into England ..... and ours our so woven into Scotland. They'll look it at like separating Siamese twins conjoined at the head, throughout the body and all the organs, all the way down to the legs. It takes them nine years to negotiate a trade deal, how the hell are they going to get their heads around that?

But if we finally stay in the EU, although it'll make us the equivalent of the old farting uncle at Christmas dinner who nobody wants next to them, AT LEAST the border would work positively in your favour, because they won't want a crazed left-wing independent Scotland taking advantage of a lax English border into the EU will they? So if we stay in, you might just get your referendum and even though Spain will want to block your quick entry in the EU, they'll come under massive pressure from the France and Germany who won't trust England/Wales to take charge of anything anymore, because we'll have proved our massive incompetence throughout these negotiations ...........

Forget that "hatred of the English" shit/wind up Saint Charles Owl - a cheap, shitty line that has been used previously by some real shameless ######## to present some kinda justified "ammunition" against the Scot Indy movement!! This is all about shitty British governance by governments that we never vote for up here in Scotland and the use of all kindsa underhand techniques to undermine the Scottish govt and the Scot Indy movement - nothing to do with a cheap generalisation of "hating the English" huhhhh!! Sure, there will be an element within the movement that shares such an extreme sentiment, but I'd strongly suggest it is not rife, nowhere near it! As for removal of the monarchy? I think a major demotion and downgrading of the monarchy is long overdue and I'd bet there are millions and millions of folk up n down the country who share similar sentiments. Re Rangers? I wish they and their fans would practise radically different from what they are doing now!!! It aint gonna happen and they are a continual embarrassment to Scot footie as well as the SFA! Here's an additional removal and justified with unanimous approval from the Scot people - REMOVAL OF TRIDENT FROM FASLANE. I'd go further and hire it out to the British govt during the period of relocating it in England - potentially billions of quid in Scottish coffers for a period of roughly 12 years. IMO it's a WMD that should not be located in Scotland!

Yeah, and BOTH our institutions and way of lives are firmly woven into the EU. Legally and socially. So all bets are off currently, especially if northern ireland gets to stay in the single market via the backstop and set its own corporation tax rates etc....

Its not the EU thats dismissing and damaging scotlands interests, its westminster and the english habit of voting in tory governments.

I do laugh at how the brexiters ludicrous arguments about a hard border in ireland are quickly forgotten when it comes to scotland.

what about how we just have to use "modern technology", or look at Switzerland, or just leave the border unenforced..... Easy. Look there's Daniel Hannan, waving his blue passport, and phytosanitation is the next thing he hasn't heard of.

Then you'll luv this latest revelation re Gibraltar's future status in the EU Jim:-

“The Chief Minister has today confirmed in Parliament that Gibraltar could join the Customs Union as part of a ‘differentiated solution’ in the Brexit withdrawal agreement, meaning it would be more European than the UK.”

So let’s just update ourselves:

ENGLAND: voted Leave, getting what it wanted
WALES: voted Leave, getting what it wanted
NORTHERN IRELAND: voted Remain, getting special treatment
GIBRALTAR (with a population the size of Falkirk!!!!): voted Remain, getting special treatment
SCOTLAND: voted Remain, GETTING NOTHING!!

ISN'T IT GREAT BEING AN EQUAL PARTNER AS PREACHED BY ALL THOSE SHAMELESS "BETTER TOGETHER" UNIONIST CRETONS EH? I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!

To be fair they are getting special treatment because of the geography, not because they voted Remain!! Both Gibralter and NI have a physical border with the EU, England, Scotland and Wales do not, that is the difference, not how they voted. There is no need to give Scotland any special treatment, just like there isn’t a need to give Wales or England any special treatment with regards to borders.
