A major challenge next for Scotland v England!

Thankfully a home match for Gregor Townsend to 'work his magic' after a fine win v France. But this game will be a tougher challenge v a team that does not lose games very often! Hopefully the Calcutta Cup will be 'in the bag' after another stirrng performance in front of a bumper Scottish crowd.

A great victory for an passionate, aggressive Scottish team that outfought an England team with little idea of how to play with the Scots intensity. A deserved kick in the nuts for arrogant loudmouth Eddie Jones. Another touch of arrogance from Martin Johnson at halftime saying that Scotland would never have planned for being 16 points ahead at halftime and wouldn't know how to react. Garbage!!! We know what to do in every circumstance, we just don't do it often enough.

A decisive margin of victory made all the sweeter by Jones' and Johnson's attitude. They don't like it up 'em!  Whistle

Guscott's nose also 'knocked out of joint' after his pre-match comment that England would win by at least 10 clear pts! Very reticent in the post match analysis lol! A 25-13 score line was good enough to lift the Calcutta Cup and one of England's noticeable failures was the huge indiscipline in conceding 21 penalties and 1 yellow card when subjected to such intense pressure by a Scottish side that 'competed like dervishes' to register such a notable home victory v the 'auld enemy'! Great stuff and onwards to Ireland in the next challenge v potential Six Nations winners.

Scotland need a huge increase in away form to trouble Ireland, but I'm glad to see that we are not being mentioned in the race for the 6 Nations title. That'll suit us just fine.

Great result, we blew england away 1st half. We were first to the break downs and pressured england constantly. Barclay and finn russell had great games and huw jones has certainly arrived now!

We don't have big heavy back row power runners, but mentally we were in the right place and looked fitter and fresher than england.

Was even sweeter a victory after the astonishing arrogance shown by some of the england pundits and eddie jones before the game. GIRFUY.

The ireland v wales game was also a cracker, ireland are a good side and winning in dublin is going to be a big ask.

I think any positive result in Dublin is very dependent on whether Finn Russell 'shows up' and adds real attacking quality from the rear although other Scotland definitely need to 'up their game' esp away from home!. It is a pity we couldn't transfer all the Scottish fans to Dublin! Rolleyes

Interesting reading of a pre-match affray in the players' tunnel at Murrayfield between England's captain, Farrell, and Scotland's Ryan Wilson - talk aboot adding 'spice' to a rugby international match preceding the start of the game and a very unusual incident in rugby union. A case of 'your not at Twickers now mate'! Whack!!
