That performance was right up there with the Derby one!! Ignoring the final score (yeah I know!!) this was an encouraging performance that should actually help our confidence. We looked really good going forward, our set pieces were the best we have seen in ages and the midfield did a great job of supporting the attackers. Yes, we needed to take some of those chances, particularly the ones when we were winning 2-1, and if you don’t you sometimes get punished!! Disappointing result but a very good performance.

McManaman scored in the 96th minute to get Sunderland a 3-3 draw with Boro. Mixed bag of results today leaves us now 7 points ahead of the relegation spots.
