Adil jacks in real cricket to become a one day specialist sad sign of the times chasing the monet in the 20 over pub league slogathon instead of going got 1-150 in the Roses match.

But he isn't playing for an IPL or Big Bash team, and his commitments to Yorkshire in the T20 Blast (which he'd have played anyway) and England in their Sri Lanka tour will keep him from signing for any of the minor T20 leagues, so how is he "chasing the money"? If anything, he'll be financially worse off from this decision in the year to come, not better off.

Yorkshire have every right to feel aggrieved, but ultimately, he's thirty years old and England have sent pretty clear signals about their preferences when it comes to Test spinners, so he's cracking on with what he's best at and feels is most rewarding. He shouldn't be considered a mercenary for that.

Fair point, really annoys me though given the lack of spinners we have, not exactly over flowing with them, but mind you after 2020 year arrives and we are playing three months of continuous rubbish a spinner will be considered as an historical artefact

Tbf to him, he got overlooked in favour of crane for the ashes, moeen wouldn't have been kept with if he was there. He and dawson have a right to be aggrieved

Now crane is in the Caribbean ahead of going to new zealand, on a spinners wicket yet has bowled 3 overs, with a decent part spinner bowling 16. The selectors have confused thinking and it'll impact a lot of the counties. Northeast has left Kent to further his england chances, which is wrong, if he has the ability to play at international level then he should. We might as well just have 4 teams in the county top division, Yorkshire, Lancashire, middlesex and surrey.

Dont blame rashid, he's doing whats best for his career, you get overlooked so often he's bound to feel despondent and question his ability and future.

Further to the point over crane v rashid. Leach bowled 41 overs to cranes 14. Livingston bowled 23. Some people somewhere feel he is good enough. Just seemingly not the people on the pitch

Crane has hardly playe, Leach gets regular wickets at Ciderabad on their spinning tracks, however the way the fixtures are these days the best time for spinners is late July/August when wickets are dry but we now just play one day games during this period so his development is going to be hindered.

So wouldn't it be more logical to pick the spinners that have actually played?

Also hales is following rashids footsteps and going white ball only. Whilst morgan is wanting another shot at red ball cricket with middlesex

Should be logic to pick spinners in form however they pick Dawson for one day games why is beyond me, just seen the Hales thing as well. At this rate I'll be in the test side soon
