But ok, let's stick him on the bench, maybe even give him some starts but if he fails to score what will that do to him??  Our fans would slaughter CC if he started youngsters and we ended up losing!!  He needs to go on loan to play against real men and if he succeeds then he will come back and be a better player.

But I still maintain there are no clubs after him because they see him as a first team starter now, he will get loaned out so I want him to sign the contract on offer and move his career forward. The money will come for him if he keeps progressing but I get the feeling because his dad didn't get his move to Manure he is pushing George to go to a Prem team now. As I say, not sure what the club can currently do if all he is doing is chasing the money.

if he doesnt score he will get slated ??? hahahahahaha where is this going Huh Laugh Nuhui Joao Matiass Abdi Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh Laugh

Some young players are thrown in at the deep end like Owen, Fowler, Rooney and obviously prospered. Abraham went out on loan and prospered, even Beckham went out on loan. I think most fans are more worried about losing him to one of the Premier league teams for free than if he is in the first team squad or sent out on loan to some L1 or L2 team.

Wolves and other clubs have bought players that start immediately, or even hit the ground running.

We drop 5m on Abdii you never see him. Now Van Aken for 4m whom isn't ready?

Seriously, what the xxxx is going on?

We'll end up with about 50K compensation because he's under 24 Doh and I don't think you get a sell on clause in these cases either Doh

I honestly think this Hirst thing is getting out of all proportion , he's 18 and a DECENT prospect, if his dad wasn't who he is would there be this outcry ..I really don't think so, he scores goals against other kids, when I played , I had games against so called "Sunday league superstars", so easy to bully ... and that's what he would get (especially with his reputation), leave the boy to grow into a man THEN lets see what happens, the last thing he (and SWFC) need is some knob to try to enhance HIS reputation by crippling the boy ... andbefore anyone says if you're good enough then you're old enough .. there are VERY FEW players in that bracket, only Owen and Rooney spring to mind and owen had pace to leave ppl for dead and rooney was a beast .. neither of these is George Hirst to be honest ..he has an eye for goal , and THATS IT FOR NOW !!!!

I don't read anything in that article that says he isn't ready to play. I think CC is saying that he is a young player with lots to learn and that our expectations should be tempered while he gets used to the Championship. It doesn't say he won't be playing. Carlos is essentially asking the fans to show some patience even if he makes a few mistakes rather than immediately jumping on their backs if they don't play well like fans are prone to doing.

Abdi did start when he first came to us but then got injured, not much can be done about that especially if there was no history of injuries like there was with Hutch for instance.

First there is no way we will lose him for nothing, a tribunal will decide the fee if he was to leave at the end of his current contract. Charlie Taylor left L**ds in the summer and Burnley took the chance to buy him for 5m before it got to tribunal, but the thought was the tribunal would still set a price tag in the 2-3m range.

Unfortunately unless he signs the new contract on offer from us then he will leave at the end of the season unless we sell him in January. At this stage its all up to him now. We could play him in the first team and he might start banging in the goals but without him being tied to us with a contract he would still likely get a better offer from a Prem team and leave. I'm really not sure what else the club can do for now without him putting pen to paper and his dad is probably advising him not to sign with us and move to a Prem team.

This has been my point all along Chaz. Things have been badly handled (which is par for the course from us) by both sides. If we'd given him a game in the shit cup last season he would have had his eyes opened a bit and brought back to reality and probably thought my dad is talking bollocks because I'm not good enough for this level just yet and I'll stay here because I've more chance than at Chelski academy. As we stand he's probably reflecting on his dads career whilst also being bummed up by his dad and thinking I may as well make some money now so that I can afford a few beers when I'm 30  Whistle

As I say, it wouldn't have done us or him any harm to have given him 45 minutes in an end of season dead rubber like the Fulham game so he could learn this lesson. Working, loosely, in education I know a bit about psychology with five year old's and pisshead parents  Cool
