Kevan Hurst would be a good addition in midfield. He was Southend's key player till they released him in 2016 and he could do a job for us. I remember he ran the Manchester City defence ragged in the Carling Cup back in 2006 when he was on loan to us from Sheffield United.

Newcastle’s slow movement in the transfer window looks to have cost them another target, as Hull’s Leonid Slutsky ruled out more departures from the KCOM Stadium, in comments appearing in the Hull Daily Mail.

The Magpies had been linked with a £10m move for Sam Clucas by Chronicle Live this summer, but Slutsky has insisted no more players will be sold by the Tigers.
