So basically when they mocked corbyn for being unrealistic in wanting to invest in our infrastructure, nhs and young people the tories really could have done it themselves if they wanted to? Or made a start.

Instead they have chucked it at a NI party to keep themselves in power. Governing in the nations interests my arse. Always in the tories.

Dont think for a second the DUP wont be back to the well for more either when it suits. What a disgrace this government is. They have sold out the British people Tiime and time again, not to mention the economic and social ruin they have caused.

Shower of bastards.

From a Scottish perspective, Scotland now has a government it didnt vote for AGAIN, propped up by a party it can't vote for to see us through a Brexit that we also didnt vote for.

Democracy eh! A lotta voting Scots really need to 'smell the coffee' and waken up and that includes the f###### idiots who voted toerag en masse in centre regions of Scotland!!

I'm inclined to agree with you there, 0762. If only the SNP hadn't carelessly lost 12 seats to the Tories!  In my constituency, the Tory candidate gained a swing of 10,000 votes over the sitting SNP Member. It would seem that most of South Scotland and the North-East felt the same. A veritable backlash against Nicola, Alex and Angus. If it hadn't been for that collapse, the SNP would have had a strong position allied to a Labour Minority Government.

Just as an aside, the UK Government could have plenty of money for housing if it really wanted. Reduce the Trident submarine fleet by 1 (it still gives us a viable nuclear deterrent), scrap HS2 (saving 20 minutes on a train journey for high-powered businessmen - what a waste of money) and don't pay the DUP the bribe. But no, the Tories love to spend our money, even though they say we can't afford it!
Cabbage is still good for you

11% of the electorate get their tax contributions for an entire year handed over to allow the Tories to form a majority government ritchie....ponder that one for a second.

That money could have built tens of thousands of council houses, brought so much in terms of staff and equipment to the NHS. Not only that it has threatened the stability of the UK,check out carwyn jones comments yesterday - the welsh are even angrier than sturgeon.

The fact is that after the banks went tits up the tories brought through needless austerity (rationalised to bring the deficit down) to ensure their mates didn't pay for the crisis in the form of tax cuts, corporation tax cuts and other giveaways. Instead austerity made sure the working classes and lower middle class (non tory voters) paid for it instead along with our services. Hence the swelling protest vote in our politics at the moment which the powers that be attempted to manage via UKIP and BREXIT.

The tories are utter, utter scum. Their refusal to invest in our people and country is nothing short of treachery. The only thing that can save the union now is a labour led coalition government, they will be inheriting a complete mess though.

I notice Queen Lizzy was also given a £60M pay rise Jim - that says it all for me! The whole royal dynasty should be reviewed and downgraded asap but it won't be done under the current Tory scum govt with so so much favouritism, division and elitism attached to it!!!
Also ritchie re that disgraceful Tory vote within Scotland, I'd luv to know how much of that vote was down to 'incomers' in these regions because I just don't believe that an indigenous Scottish vote would be so big although I am aware that there appeared to be, in certain areas, almost a straight swap of thousands of previous 2015 libdem votes that suddenly became Tory votes!!?? Note about 74% of the Scottish vote went to centre left political parties and that's no coincidence and is the main reason why I take umbrage at the audacious representations made by minority Tory morons like Ruth Davidson and her cohorts - absolutely infuriating and clearly with a narrow agenda of which most Scottish voters should be well aware of!!

So after the disappointing GE result for the SNP, Nicola announces that she is putting Indyref2 on hold and now targeting getting one done by the end of the current Scottish Parliament, so some time on 2021. Inevitable outcome of the GE with the SNP vote being down so much and with so much uncertainty surrounding the Brexit issue and current negotiations. To borrow another Scottish politicians phrase, I think this is a "prudent" decision by the SNP.

I'll go further on that view! I'd call it a 'cute move' that Nicola can actually change anyway if the 'mood' of the Scottish people is dramatically altered towards a second Scot indy referendum by negotiations in a fiasco called brexit!!!! The First Minister is just saying she'll hold to the conclusion of the brexit farce (slightly move the timetable!!) and focus on trying to pragmatically influence the best possible deal for Scotland. However, I think the Scottish Green Party made a good point that leaving it so late would place Scotland at a disadvantage on timescale. Hence I still believe that an early move could be initiated under an emergency motion and explicitly stated 'in the interest of Scotland and the Scottish people'! There is still a high percentage of voters in Scotland who regard the option of a Scot indy ref 2 to be absolutely 'left on the table' to be utilised if required and that view aint gonna change any time soon no matter how much Ruth 'the mooth' and all the other shameless unionist allies/opponents of Scottish self-determination 'bang on' about shutting it down altogether (today's unionist response from media sources and party leaders was the usual 'joke' - she's done a U turn, then 'there is no change', to she's done a U turn again and the contradictions go on and on and on - just replace it by one word: FEAR!!!!!!) and so much for democracy again if the c#### ever got away with that one and a lotta Scots would possibly start thinking that the aggressive route may be the better one to follow instead of the peaceful one that we've stuck rigidly to down the years and felt it was the 'right way to go'!!!! There comes a time when many Scots have finally had a bellyful of 'being shat on' by political shit heids from Westminster and their paid cohorts who hover around like bees up here in Scotland in a political minority!!

The language of the original bill is clear and nothing said during the election campaign or in this speech contradicts or retreats from it in any way.

Since the referendum result sturgeon has never tried to be anything other than flexible over brexit. She tried a UK wide approach and was rebuffed by may,she tried talking directly to brussels, and only when no other card was to play did she go for another referendum.

I don't think losing the seats in Scotland is a problem for the SNP, but the Conservatives failure to get a big majority is a massive, massive problem for them. I expect the country and the brexit negotiations to have unravelled by this time next year and the landscape to have changed again.

Tories and DUP vote down (and cheer the result) of blocking corbyn's amendment to remove the cap on public service workers pay. All labour/lib/green/snp voted for.

In effect the tories have used the UK taxpayers money to relieve austerity in NI while bribing the DUP to vote down pay rises for UK teachers, policemen and nurses. People who had their pay frozen back by osborne back in 2010.

It beggars belief that this government could be so cruel and self serving. They are an absolute disgrace to the honest, caring and hardworking NHS workers, teachers, firemen, police and other public service workers who serve our country selflessly.

The unions have already hit the roof....i can see a very stormy summer ahead.
