European Union Referendum - In or Out??

And Spain could 'throw a spanner' into May's trade deal over the status of Gibraltar! I'd laugh if it happened after all the allied unionist claptrap that was uttered re Spain's opposition to Scotland's poss EU membership! That would be so ironic if they were scuppered by Spain instead!

Yeh, we'd go to war with Spain, get a life numpy Like we'd go to war with Spain ffs? What an arse. Doh The main reason we have Gibraltar is because Spain have two bits of land on the other side of the Med in what would otherwise be Morocco and it stops them being the traffic cops for the biggest trade route going.

Maybe those Tory 'hypocrites' just 'asked for it' anyway by being daft enough to have ever allowed the Brexit vote to happen eh - more to the point and the Gib issue will be one minor detail of many others that will be far more significant to the financial detriment of the UK/the south of Engerland (to be more precise)!! Also over 90% of the Gib voting population opted to remain FFS - a compromised position for another predominantly non-English populace!

Right enough Jim! I'm sure Maggie Thatcher was prob on May's 'huge admiration list' much like the regard that David Cameron (as well as many other shameless toerags) also held for Thatcher - IMO it deems their judgement to be highly questionable if they hold these kinda iffy values for one of the worst rated UK PMs in the past century!! As for Lord Howard and his sabre-rattling - once an arse hole, always an arse-hole and an English Tory 'to boot'!!

Yep! This 'hit' on the London financial sector was predicted months before the referendum result in July 2016 and it's no surprise what Webber is suggesting! Do remember that London's voting population unanimously voted to remain with the EU - similar to Scotland in many respects.

This is a fitting description of the whole UK Brexit fiasco and how it came about - I would've added 'arseholes' preceded by Tory and predominantly English and right-wing!

Britain set to lose EU "crown jewels" of banking and medicine agencies

Rival member states vie to attract prestigious agencies currently located in London as diplomats agree to block talks on future comprehensive trade deal

The EU is set to inflict a double humiliation on Theresa May, stripping Britain of its European agencies within weeks, while formally rejecting the prime minister's calls for early trade talks.

The Observer has learned that EU diplomats agreed their uncompromising position at a crunch meeting on Tuesday, held to set out the union's strategy in the talks due to start next month.

A beauty contest between member states who want the European banking and medicine agencies, currently located in London, will begin within two weeks, with selection criteria to be unveiled by the president of the European council, Donald Tusk.

The European Banking Authority and the European Medicines Agency employ about 1,000 people, many of them British, and provide a hub for businesses in the UK. It is understood that the EU's chief negotiator hopes the agencies will know their new locations by June, although the process may take longer. Cities such as Frankfurt, Milan, Amsterdam and Paris are competing to take the agencies, which are regarded as among the EU's crown jewels.

Meanwhile, it has emerged that Britain failed to secure the backing of any of the 27 countries for its case that trade talks should start early in the two years of negotiations allowed by article 50 of the Lisbon treaty. The position will be announced at a Brussels summit on 29 April.

Merkel uttering 'caution' again to lotsa British illusionists who believe all will be well, post exit from the EU! I blame certain British politicians and their backing media who have created this false illusion and are in for a severe shock once the 'dust eventually settles' on this Brexit fiasco!
