Heart of Midlothian v Hibernian 2017

The Greek defender who fell over 'clutching his face' was definitely another cheating b###### and review the video run of this joker if you think that view is extreme! I've watched similar instances of the same kinda 'acting' antics down the years in Scotland and Euro matches at ER (eg the Euro U21 'decider' v Croatia - full of serial 'fakers' who were continually booed by Scotland fans re this form of cheating!). Remember the AEK match at ER - again full of Greek serial 'fakers' who were 'hanging on for dear life'!!! Scotland v Lithuania anybody? Rolleyes WE DON'T NEED THAT SHIT IN SCOTTISH FOOTIE!!!! Lastly Darren Mac's offence was a straightforward yellow card. Goncalves' foul was cynical and dangerous and could be easily compared with recent red card incidents at Fir Park - it was worse than these incidents and it was clear Gollum was in a lenient mood - a lucky laddie but a likeable one based on his fairly easygoing demeanour during this game!

Don't think I mentioned the Greek incident?

Agreed it has no place in football.

Just emphasising the fact newhavenhibby - conveniently ignored in favour of focusing on Darren Mac's badly-timed challenge on Cowie with eyes fully focused on the flight of the ball - a yellow card offence all day long and a subsequent apology offered by Darren! We all know DM is not a 'dirty' player anyway and that's based on his time with Rangers and Hibs! Tough maybe but never underhand and definitely a future Scotland international prospect.

Watching 'judas' mcleish practically begging for the sevco job on sky today after our game was absolutely nauseating.

One of the most desperate things I've ever seen.

It is interesting to see the different views of the two sets of supporters and how they see different flash points of the game through either green or maroon tinted spectacles and something we should encourage on here provided it doesn't get personal. I thank Fred for the posts and the points he has raised and shows there are always two sides to every decision and I expect IJ may be back once he has recovered from his disappointment drunken stupor after his side were held by the wee team. Wink

Remember no side is whiter than white and at times all do things their fans will not be happy about and this includes Hibs.

Got to go through it all again next Wednesday and as I have said think it will be a more entertaining game at ER.

Off topic but not so long ago Ecky was preaching of his desire to return to a 'preferred' EPL role and a return to Scottish footie 'not an option'! How times have changed and the word 'compromised' comes to mind! Rolleyes
Re fans' behaviour, what about Hibs away support in Sunday's match? Top class and some of the craic was classic - we'll sing a song for Hearts eh lol!! Laugh As said in a previous thread - Hearts grey support definitely 'stuck in time' when it comes to this stuff re singing repertoire and that is so obvious when sitting/standing in the packed away stand! Good to hear Lenny acknowledging the great Hibs support in his post match interview and also good to hear Marvin's post match comments centring on the fact Hearts are the SPL team and still the favourites to win the tie! A cute endorsement of what Lenny said thereby ensuring Hibs still have 'something to prove' and thousands n thousands of Hibees gonna be there to give the boys that extra support, ensure this Hearts team is most unwelcome and that supplemented Hibs crowd will hopefully emulate Hibs away support - something that Hibs home support don't do often enough TBF!

Just patiently biding my time NH and aiming to chose my words carefully with no foul language required!!!!!!!

Being the away fans the JT's will sing and make more noise at ER on Wednesday week. A decent away support will always make more noise as they are on somebody elses turf. This goes for most level of football .......the only exception in the EPL perhaps being Crystal Palace fans. Celtic standing section keep the noise going at Parkhead in the SPL but generally home fans ( grey haired brigade) even at ER sit on their hands and wait for something to happen, except for those, who because they have paid their money it is their right to hurl abuse at the home players  Doh  . I take my hat off to the drummer and small group at the bottom of the East who try to keep things going.......they would be better at the top of the stand buy hey ho.

Atmosphere in grounds has never been the same since all-seater stadia were enforced as before that all the people who wanted to sing could migrate to the parts of the ground where all like minded people would congeregate and get things going. I have often seen and heard people try to get chants going on their own in various sections of the ground just to be faced with rows of disdain looks as though they have just committed murder.

My main concern still is the fact this tie takes our eye off the ball a little in the promotion push. Talk and concentration again for the next 10 days is on the replay and I hope the team are focused on Saturdays more important game v Raith. I believe the tie has already lost us 2 points v Ayr and I don't want to think of us letting more go on Saturday especially with a newly installed Yogi who would want to get off to a good start. Helped last week by Dundee Uniteds slip up but we need to keep the pressure on and not give them a sniff or Falkirk or Morton. Dodgy

Last paragraph highlights my key concerns really. We are about to find out if lennon can keep the squad focussed and winning with the distraction of a big cup tie in the foreground. Stubbs struggled to do that and it cost us hugely in the title race even though the team redeemed itself at hampden.

I think you are right in that its already cost 2 points - but the flipside of that is that if Cummings or bartley had got injured against ayr the fans would have gone apeshit. Its time to put this league to bed so to speak, and straight wins going to the end of the month v raith/pars/st Mirren I think would give us a real cushion before we go into the key games with utd/Falkirk/ Morton in march.

Its fast heading towards crunch time!

Hibs will win the league regardless of the cup games you have to play UTD are garbage and hibs have a good lead along with a game in hand it's only a question of when the job is finished off but they will win the championship
