2016/17 (Jan 30 Update) WBA January Transfer Window

We talk about Rodriguez for an eternity only to be told on the final day that Southampton were not going to sell, whilst we put in a token gesture enquiry for Callum Wilson one day before the window closes. If Pulis agrees that a striker is critical for us, that was obvious before January so why all the faffing about in January. If I had any confidence this coming summer transfer window will be different I'd feel better but experience tells me otherwise

Schneiderlin was always going to be a long shot, that's true, but there's simply nothing Albion can do if a club (Southampton) decide on the last day of the window that a player isn't for sale. Callum Wilson - forget him for ever now. He's just ruptured his left knee anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for six months, after rupturing his right knee ACL 18 months ago which also put him out of action for six months. He's now another George Thorne injury liability - no thanks.

I see where you are coming from ,
But we offered £8 Million for Fonte which was accepted and we offered more wages than West Ham 65K a week,
So by that logic we should have 100% got him ?

I say i know where you're coming from but just pointing out sometimes we meet the asking price and still get Gazumped by simply the bright lights of London,

I beginning to dislike WestHam so much
They even waited till a bid for Snodgrass was accepted from Burnley,
Then you know what happened next ?

Bloody hell dogged a £20 Million bullet here !!!!!!!

"Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with cruciate ligament damage. He had been subject to transfer rumours in January, with West Brom said to be tracking him. "
Beginning to hate West Ham - catch up man, I have hated them most of my life!!!

When did that happen? Yesterday? If that's so its sad for him and possibly a big loss for us - do we pay his wages or is he sent back to Bournemouth?

BBB, I don't think we got Callum Wilson, the striker we got Marc Wilson a defender. Different guy lucky for us. Still hope he makes a full recovery. Best wishes callum.

You are right, just noticed. For some reason I thought it was our guy because of the injury. Duh!

Not sure why people (not everybody) have a 'downer' on Marc Wilson. He's a full ROI international and played for Pulis for years.

Let's face it, I think the Derby game was the final straw for Olly. He looked really slow...even slower than he usually looks and, frustratingly, continued to 'hoof' the ball aimlessly to....nobody really.

Shame really.

Only wet sham, I hate all London clubs, poaching players, letting others scout then come in last minute and steai. Won't pay for themselves but happy to let others do the work. Get all the media coverage ...... etc etc

I think despite the initial reaction bringing in Livermore for £10m was a fantastic bit of business considering the saft money being spent elsewhere.

Not particularly excited by the signing of Marc Wilson on loan but he's an upgrade on Olsson for sure.

We've not spent a great deal of money and are in a good position right now - we need that to translate into bringing in around 3-4 top class players next window.

Also, I'd have taken £32m for Rondon any day of the week. Not sure how genuine that rumour was but I'd have cashed in at that price!

They probably would have done if the bid had come in early enough for us to get a reasonable replacement, which with that money we could have and still be quids in. No way would we risk the rest of the season with just HRK up front. They still might come back though, the Chinese windows still open or more likely a deal done, but move in April.

Hope not mind, a real grafter.
