No ones rationalsing him as a President but he will be the President whether we like it or not!!! I hope for the sake of all those he has targeted and for the country as a whole that he does not go as far as we fear he might and that he does well. He is an odious man but wishing him to fail miserably would be terrible for the country, he may actually fail but now he is in charge I hope not.

Well I for one want to see him fail miserably at implementing his racist programs, criminalizing abortion, pulling out of NATO and a whole spectrum of disgusting elements of his platform. So no I don't wish him all the best.

My apologies, I didn't mean posters on here are rationalising Trump. However, if you saw some of the news and reporting ( or lack there of as per) on TV currently it would try to convince you otherwise. Almost "Keep calm and carry on".
They are doing a good job of branding most protests as 'Riots'. Whilst also not covering the hate and intolerance coming from those at the bottom of Trumps demographic. Online trolling and varying vile actions such as a 10Yr old girl having to be picked up from School because a boy grabbed her vagina reportedly saying "If the President can do it so can I"
Black dolls being found hanging in elevators..
Not all Trump supporters are racist bigot, idiots. But the large majority are I'm afraid.
He hasn't even been inaugurated yet.. The shit is already brewing beneath the surface and the media continue to fail the people.

I'd expect him to keep filling the mid to lower level positions with 'Friends & family'. He was looking for positions for his shit bag kids, all we need is some Trump nepotism. Thinks he's Rodrigo Borgia now
I'm expecting that he'll have to tow the Party line at the end of the day. The Republicans will have sat him down and illuminated the situation for him, if he doesn't they'll make sure he's convicted/impeached thus bringing the safety of their man Pence into the fold. A man they can control vocally, socially and by strings.
What's done is done, there's no going back now. However, it is incredibly insulting to have the right now tell everyone else " Get over it stop being mean to us, you're not being patriotic or respecting the democratic process".
The very same people that still, after 8 years of abusing the left and the President, in the same breath say things like 'Now your Kenyan Muslim sympathising n*gger can't ruin this country anymore'
It isn't so much Trump at the moment that's the problem, it's the people who feel validated by his election to President. When the man elected not only thinks the vile things they ( pond life) do, he openly says them on TV without being admonished profoundly, that sets a dangerous precedent.
As I said yesterday Trump hasn't undergone the inauguration process and already his base feels green lit to commit acts of hate.
Electoral college? Needs to be scrapped, throughout history it has only served one Party. The Republicans. No one ever seems to ask the right questions, do they? not to mention the memory loss. Howard Dean beat Bush Jr with the Popular vote too. Didn't seem to matter then either as Bush's brother Jeb had some voting irregularities in his state of Florida and it went Bush's way.. Oh what a surprise that was
The Republicans in their one dimensional battle as Patriots to serve the People of America, subsequently implemented voter ID laws in the poorest and ethnic communities to make it almost impossible for many Americans to vote, and they were voting Democrat.
so.. That's democracy for you, and that's the party of Patriots.
The American dream.. You have to be asleep to believe it.

I think its sad that almost half the eligible population did not bother to make their voice count due to the apathy of not believing any government will make a difference to them.

Same things happens usually in a General Election here, turnout is only in the 60% range. Think the referendum got over 70%, people who don't usually vote came out and voted to Leave the EU.

In case anyone thinks I'm being preachy on here with my strong condemnation of an American President-elect, let me pass along to you that until last November we in Canada were ruled by a right wing Tory party. Stephen Harper was nowhere near as bad as Trump, nor would he have had as much influence on world affairs, but under his regime unemployment benefits were cut, the Alberta Oil sands with its numerous pipelines spewed toxic pollutants that were an embarrassment to the nation, he refused to look into why so many indigenous women were being raped and murdered, and in Trumpian fashion, he tried to sett up a policy for aspiring immigrants and refugees to sign on to a set of "Canadian values," whatever they are. He closed down libraries at scientific government labs and laid off countless scientists. Those that remained operated under a cone of silence, forbidden from speaking to the press or even publishing their data without permission.
So, we do know what a paler shade of Trump looks like. We refer to those 9 years as the dark ages.
I'm afraid that where the U.S. is now headed but it would appear to be even darker.
Sorry I can't be more optimistic as SCO is. But, I have to call the shots as I see them.

And when they get round to blocking Brexit the apathy will be even worse I wonder if anyone will bother to vote again as what they are attempting over here is f'ucking outrageous whether you voted in or out It completely pisses all over the theory that we live in a democracy
and complicated
