It is the regularity of this exercise that really "pisses me off" and millions like me. You are right re the "stage managed" manipulation of an event and "mixing" with their own people because I've witnessed this charade many times before in Edinburgh while walking home through the city centre - so "artificial" and a total con with certain media people "in tow"! Why not integration with all areas of the general public anyway Saint Charles Owl???????????????? Surely that is what true government practise should be about - pragmatic and progressive!!! Why on earth should it not be exactly as described in a proper, pluralist society?????? You and I know precisely why it is as divisive as it appears and it is certainly why I despise the Tories and everything they stand for - never voted for them and never will! It is a fact they are "in a minority in Scotland" and people associated with them in these kinda events are a minority group of privileged, rich people who I cannot fathom "for the life me" at this particular time because many of them are not stupid - they should be hiding away rather than having any association with Johnson and his contemptuous fascist chums!! But the activity at the Scottish ballot box will eventually "catch up with them" AGAIN - it is inevitable!! THEY DESERVE A "TOTAL WIPEOUT" OF THEIR CONSTITUENCY SEATS AS THEY ARE NOT FIT TO REPRESENT SCOTTISH INTEREST IN ANY CAPACITY WHATSOEVER!!

And now another disenchanted Tory cabinet member, Amber Rudd, resigns amid another barrage of criticism towards Johnson. Oh well, that's another one to deduct from Johnson's badly damaged government

Politicians visits to different parts of the country are always as you say stage managed, they are about sound bites or news clips or a photo opportunity, whether it be to promote a policy or to gain votes. They are virtually never about meeting the general public, and this is the case for all parties and virtually all Western democracies!!

I think the polls are relatively meaningless in this environment. People will vote for individuals based on their Brexit policy.
The current party system, and polling based on it is at odds with what's going on in the country.
Johnson is going to throw the Scottish tory MPs under the bus anyway, and concentrate on the labour leave seats. It wouldn't surprise me if he does the same to the DUP to get round the backstop and just makes a border in the Irish Sea. It would cause a meltdown over there but so what eh? One must do what they can for brittania.
This would be quite enjoyable if it wasn't for the entire country being whacked about like a ping-pong ball by a bunch of absolute c**ts

Yep! I totally agree with that. Also Johnson reiterating that he won't go to the EU to extend article 50. So he says that he'll break the law! If he dares to do that then we lock up the contemptuous bastard and throw that c### Cummings into the cell as well The other worry is that the EU lose patience and tell the UK govt to b##### off and take May's deal or f### off! Is that part of Cummings' end strategy?

On the same issue of law-breaking, the Scottish Court of Session now deeming Johnson's proroguing stunt to be unlawful, adding that the Queen was misled as well! Is anybody that surprised re this judgement???? Don't think so!! But, of course, the Supreme Court in England could still "unhinge" this ruling and probably refer to the Queen being a higher authority than the law itself, IMO an absolute disgrace if it unfolds in this way. Hopefully, that higher court will actually endorse the Scottish judgement because it is an accurate summary and the right one against a bunch of conniving fascists who call themselves a British government!

A criminal government, acting in the interests of criminals - tax evaders, money launderers, vulture capitalists. Desperate to evade the EUs new laws on tax havens.
For that they will do anything, depose a PM and replace him with trumpio's puppet, break the laws of the land, suspend democracy, lie to the monarch...... even break up the union ?
Shows you who really is running the UK, and it isn't our elected representatives. Sickening.

This is a great video of Ken Clarke "wiping the floor" with Johnson's mop head in the parliamentary chamber - revenge is sweet and this is well worth "having a listen" lol!

The irony of this entire tawdry, shocking Brexit caper is that Britain actually deserves the most destructive kind of Brexit. Why ?
Because as it turns out, Brexitania has too many racist, insular piss-holes full of uneducated idiots.

Just a point regarding our elected representatives - some people have made the point that Parliament doesn't belong to Boris, it belongs to the people. Our sickening elected representatives have made a mockery of that principle recently, by ignoring THE people's vote to leave the EU and then deliberately voting down any move to leave under any circumstances. Most of the Commons were elected on the promise to leave, most of the Commons voted to trigger Article 50, but when it comes to the crunch, the majority lily-livered little darlings are desperate to remain in the EU.
That is what all the hoo-ha is about and that is why I have no time for the Houses Of Parliament. Boris and Jeremy are a complete waste of time and space, one frighteningly antagonistic and one frighteningly docile. I disagree with the next two, but at least Jo and Ian show a united front for what they believe in.
Cabbage is still good for you
