Great for Ross County to lift the trophy and nice to see Ricky Foster claim a winner's medal. I actually quite like Alan Stubbs and feel a bit sorry for him but Jackson Irvine had McGinn in his back pocket and County managed to mostly restrict the opposition to hopeful long range shots. Not a lot of great football on offer but a decent final.

11/05/2016 : I see the Scottish League Cup will be known as the 'Betfred Cup'  from next Season, with TV coverage by BT Sport.

From Rangers' website yesterday :

THE SPFL has today confirmed that blue-chip UK bookmaking company Betfred has agreed a three-year deal to become the exclusive title sponsor of the Scottish League Cup; The Betfred Cup.

It will still be the Scottish League Cup in any threads or posts of mine !

330 grand a year what a coup that was. pitiful sponsorship. And to think they are championing it as a great deal for Scottish football.

I would rather see Rangers play a colt side in that competition next season, it's not worth the hassle anymore. Outdated competition.

It's a shame folk think that way,i remember some fantastic league cup games over the years.

When it had a route to Europe it was a great competition, it would serve more of a purpose to bed youngsters in via the competition.

It's only importance nowadays for Rangers is as part of a Treble, and as such it retains some considerable gravitas.

It is more of a hinderance now Trus especially if involved in European competitions.
