Thread to talk about football and wednesday in general
Not sure how much weight is behind the rumour, Cadamarteri being considered for a call up to Jamaica team.
England U19 keeping tabs also.

No surprise here, the big boys have decided their 38 league game season is enough at domestic level.

Only wishing to focus on the European ties where each leg generates about a million quid. Therefore playing a domestic cup game for 100k is a waste of their time.

Unfortunately, it isn't a waste of time for lower league clubs as the generated revenue is helping them exist.

The game really is going to shit, corruption and greed have destroyed it, cheating is frequent and gradually becoming normalised.
The big clubs are closing the gates behind themselves, soon the rest of the Clubs will squabble for breadcrumbs. Others will completely go under and dissolve.

I wonder where we've seen this type of hierarchy being implemented before? Doh

Hard to disagree with this article. I think many of us here have mentioned the need for a director of football at S6.
As mentioned though, we've had a revolving door at corporate level with it seeming like Chansiri is impossible to work with..

The Club really can't move forward until there's a change in ownership.

I don't agree with his politics but I do agree Chansiri is a problem and that we need a DOF.

We're just one poor transfer window away from going in circles.

You may not like him but he is spot on with this. If we assume that there are no buyers or DC is not willng to sell us, then he needs to put in a football structure at the club. He has done it at coaching level now he needs to do it at Board level.

He could do with watching the Wrexham Netflix series, they might own the club and they are passionate about the football, but they let professionals run the club.

I quite enjoyed the Wrexham series. They seem to be doing all the right things, the club is being propelled in the right direction after years of stagnation.

Definitely, sure they have pumped in a ton of money compared to other clubs, but they are doing it all the right way from the board room to the fan involvement and the stuff they are doing in the city as well. There is no reason why we couldn't do the same but Chansiri needs to divorce himself from being anything but the owner. Look at other really well run clubs, Spurs for example where you never hear from the owner or Norwich under Delia or Brighton under Tony Blooms ownership.

All good examples of positive structures being applied.

In just a few years the difference at Wrexham is astounding, even tearing down their version of our Presto stand and rebuilding it.
The community work isn't pretentious or superficial, the owners genuinely seem to care about them rather than see the fans as 'customers'
