None of the idea you said work SCO! So I will just write a random 5 letter word to get to the last page of the thread.

Ex-Wednesday player Tommy Craig fired as manager of St Mirren.  Craig played over 200 times for us between 1968 and 1974 scoring 40 odd goals in the process.  He was one of the first players I remember seeing when i first started going, probably not for his skill particular but for his ginger hair!!!

Ironically, he has been replaced by another ex-Owl in Gary Teale!!
Angry Angry Oh, no. We've drawn that bleedin Man C again in FA Cu0p. It was that drubbing that started the rot last time around. Why can't they be-satisfied with a 3-0 win instead of having to rub it in? Bugger it!@! Angry Angry Angry

And WTF is that silly old twat talking about ? wrong thread again !!! ffs !! charlie ban him will you  Thumb up

While Pope can score lots of goals in L2, his L1 record is no better than Madine's L1 record.

L2 - P118 Goals 47

L1 - P132 Goals 42 (almost 1 in 3)

Madine's all round play is better than Pope's. Not saying that Pope can't step up but at 29, his best days are behind him while Madine's best days should be ahead of him. If we want to progress, we want to be bringing in players that at least have some resale value so 25 & under.
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
I would definitely think about giving Madine a contract extension. To get any better we'd have to spend a bit of money and we all know that won't happen.
I'd give him a year with the option of one more, tell him he bucks his ideas up or thats it. To get the automatic year extension he has to score 10+ goals which should mean he's forced his way back into the managers thoughts

While I agree that Madine's best days are ahead of him, I do wonder if that will not be with us!! Pope is not a bad shout, I do find it strange that he hasn't been picked up by someone with his good record at Port Vale, but his record is good and as a 6'3" striker he could be a good foil for May. But the Madine question needs to be answered first!!

I agree that Madine will probably leave. Who knows if he is good enough but he isn't going to get a chance to prove it as SG clearly prefers Nuhui. Just a shame that we will lose him for free.
