I believe woakes will replace anderson, he just wasnt fit enough and should have played for Warwickshire if possible. I am holding out hope on tom curran and his brother sam, but as a test bowler I'm leaning towards tom.

A couple of wickets for Jimmy Anderson this morning puts him onto 499. Can he get to 500 before lunch?

WI 22-2

Stoneman gone cheaply again. It's got to be Hameed for the Ashes. He's playing himself into form again, and Jennings and Stoneman just aren't doing it.

Christ on a bike, England 24-4.

21-4 bit of movement for the bowlers and the modern batsman is clueless

Can't help but think hameed will be worked over big time in aussiland, his low hands, with bad fingers, it wont be nice facing quicker bowlers on bouncy wickets

Jimmy joins the 500 Club with a beauty. Better day all round for England, but need to wrap it up properly.

Won at a canter in the end, though I fear in terms of Ashes selection, this summer has raised more questions than it's answered.
