Donald Trump - is the clock already ticking?
#31
Gore Vidal once said America should have two Presidents: an acting President and the real President. He thought Reagan got the presidency because he was the best actor available.

This time instead of an actor America has elected a work of art. Trump is like Salvador Dali, permanently creating himself and he doesn't seem to mind (or notice) if his creation is totally inconsistent. His solutions to problems are genuinely surreal - miniature Mexicans trying to scale a giant stars-and-stripes wall. The surrealists embraced childish creativity and Trump has that in spades.

Unlike Grayson Perry, who has an alter ego and a teddy bear called Measles, Donald Trump has physically shape-shifted throughout his life and is mentally continuing that process. It's no use asking whether he's a Hawk or a Dove - he's a Dork. He wanted to be President. He wanted the applause. He wants to be loved. Stop giving him things to think about, keep him away from the news as much as possible, but don't impeach him - we'd get Pence and I get the impression he really believes this crap, a kind of unstoppable Trump-devised IED that no one could disarm, or even charm.

Trump's hair isn't an irrelevance. It tells us all we need to know.

Yep! And Trump's inauguration takes place in a few hours! I won't be watching it or listening to the latest 'cheap talk' any more - said my 'piece' on this and that's it - we are powerless to do anything about this travesty apart from criticise the wholly unacceptable behaviour of this man and his crass political campaign! Lastly, I must say I briefly watched Trump's inaugural ball last night and noticed how many privileged 'white faces' attended this event - not a single black face in sight!!! Rolleyes That is part of the paradox re the USA and why/how a significant part of the voting population voted for this billionaire businessman in the first place! Absolutely bizarre and naive!

That would've been the 'perfect match' for this pair and it's likely the bbc would never have been talking to any Rangers officials for ever - an extension of the current situation lol!

Trump 'nearly' bought rangers in the same way i 'nearly' had a night with scarlett johansson.

Even a lunatic like trump knows they weren't worth investing in.

You just have to read these comments re 'waterboarding' to appreciate what a scumbag this guy is! He needs a week or more of this type of human rights abuse applied to him in order to waken him up re making such crass statements and opinions!

How many more executive orders is Trump going to issue? I always thought the good old US of A was a democracy but now it's turned into a dictatorship. The ticking clock will be moving to 2 minutes to midnight very soon.

Ha ha ha! I believe he has broken all historical records when it comes to the issuing of 'executive orders' ritchie! I'm sure other US presidents studied the implications of taking such measures and this process took quite while before rejecting or applying them. The whole episode is extraordinary in the extreme!

This is the latest example of Trump's crass behaviour as he propels himself into being the most hated American president in living memory. It's a pity that part of the US process of appointing a new president didn't have a clause that sets out a provisional trial period to ensure this appointee was the 'right person for the job' - I'd be 100% certain that he'd be gone after that period expired lol!!

I'm more and more convinced he has some form of dementia.
