The 'treble' is still on for Celtic - Celtic 1 Rangers 0

That 'monopoly' will prevail for a long, long time as predicted quite a while ago on this Sb forum. Rangers FC can't compete on the same financial footing and if they 'tried their same previous financial shit again', they'd most certainly be another liquidated co again!

If Rangers got there act together they have the fan base to compete somewhat but the CL money that Celtic should get every 2-3 years will keep them ahead financially. After that its up to one of the chasing pack to pounce on any poor Celtic side or season, and that was tough to do even when Ronny was in charge, so you are probably right that its going to take some effort to break the monopoly.

To stay in front last time SCO they had to boost the taxman for tens of millions. This time round its going to be much harder as celtic have become a much bigger club than rangers now. In terms of finance, scouting, stadium, crowds, manager and coaching staff, spending power and presence throughout the footballing world they are miles ahead.Miles.

All they need to do is keep recycling the champions league money properly. There was always a chance in the past they could xxxx it up with the jokers they had on the board but not anymore. With deila they covered any euro shortfall by selling players to the EPL. Rangers are up against a very well run business.

And rangers just don't have a very good calibre of person running them currently IMO. And in some cases they bring more problems to the table than they solve.

Their only hope going forward is to try and produce as many of their own youngsters as possible and supplement them with decent loan deals.

The key there is the CL money because that is the major financial difference between the champions of Scotland and the rest. As you say if Celtic use the 30m windfall from this campaign alone then that can sustain them easily at a level above all the others for at least 3 years, in which time I am sure they would expect to get another shot at the Group stages and another 30m. Its self perpetuating for them if they work it right, unless a very rich benefactor with open and deep pockets decides to take a punt on one of the other big teams, then we may see some changes. But that is currently very unlikely with the paltry tv deal and ROI that Scottish football presents currently.

League One is surely not seen as a better league than top for in the Scottish Prem??? But then again look at the lack of decent opportunities for English coaches these days!! Neilson should be aiming higher than MK Dons!!

Study the money and attendances that are associated with League 1, and indeed with certain footie clubs in the National League, before making such a critical initial comment. The times have moved on in that regard and Scottish footie is certainly the loser!

My initial comment wasn't critical, it was a genuine question. I get that there is more money these days in English football, but surely a manager from one of the top 4 teams in Scotland is still worthy of at least a place in the Championship, not League 1??
