FA Cup- Lambs To The Slaughter?

You didn't play at all. It does happen in all levels of football, and quite often only the final whistle stops it. I hope it doesn't happen to Chesterfield against Horsham.

Maxwell was mildly fouled for the goal, but no one was going to reach the ball to head it and his hand was a foot below the level of the bar when the ball went in. Simultaneously jumping and shrinking is a skill. It was the effect of you conceding so many throw-ins and pressurising him that caused it I'm sure. Chapman's place looks safe.

I thought Lees, Ward and your expensive Serb barely looked worth 2/10. Headley, Maxwell, Turton, Pearson and Wiles (who perversely lacked any wiles and thought a dead ball was an opportunity to pass to their keeper) might have acheived a 3. Iorpenda looked promising and tried so I'd give him 5, and Lonwijk gave every impression of being able to play but was clearly very surprised to be there and even he couldn't judge the bounce. How you could avoid turning to Ladapo and Koroma at half time beats me. Herbie Kane came on and caught whatever the rest of the team had contracted. Why were you so s l oo o o wwww w?

Tamworth didn't even play well. Their throw-ins were great. They challeneged and disrupted you well, but you were well up for disruption from the start. Last season we beat Portsmouth who really didn't play, but at least you could tell they were a decent team on a big off-day and we did play well. You didn't even look decent last night and there I was hoping you'd win and that we might draw you in boring Round Two .... and we could have a nice line in banter. OMG maybe we'll play like you. None of YOU deserved that - but I'm afraid the team did.

We're so one dimensional and slow it's unbelievable.

Our centre halves are all limited, you can manage one being so, but three with helik still to return who is even more so. Only lonwijk looks to have some ability on the ball, but it becomes pedestrian because every player in front of him is either limited or one dimensional, I'd say not one of our midfield or forwards have movement off the ball, it's predictable and markable, doesn't really matter what level, it's telegraphed.

Our midfield lacks creativity and spark, no one will grab the game by the scruff of the neck and say right, I'm changing this. It takes three, slow, pedestrian passes to achieve what one simple pass could. It happened yesterday, wiles had a pass to turton on, but instead it went back to kasumu, over to Pearson, on to turton, by then everyone has regrouped, we're at walking pace and it all becomes ineffectual and has to go back to being passed around in defence before a hopeful long ball. There's no zip, there's no give and go. Theres no pace in our play and hardly any in our squad in general.

The strikers are useless really, you pretty much have to pick the least useless out of the lot, which despite all his hammerings ward and Healey are the two, mainly because they have some semblance of a chance of scoring.

Is it tactical, is duff setting out to build up play slowly or is it the players that are incapable of playing quicker. Is it some players can do it, but don't trust the others to be capable of doing it.

If it's tactical then duff needs to work different ways out otherwise we'll be inept and impotent. If it's a squad thing then those serious questions need to continue being hammered around or we need duff to earn his keep and work out a better system to get the best out of players.

I would say or again and say we need Cartwright to earn his wage and get the right players in but thats DOA.

Strange then that the last few games, we have been moving the ball quicker and finding space well. Why did we return to the walking football? I don't know.

Kasumu had his worst game in ages. I've been praising him lately for his positivity and workrate, but he was abysmal last night. Why? I don't know.

Bojan and Lord Ward were also abysmal. How Bojan lasted so long into the game, I don't know.

As for Headley. One good game against Morecambe does not make him a good footballer. I know Duff has to work with what he's given, but if Miller's fit, Miller plays as far as I'm concerned. Somebody on Twitter said Headley's the worst left back he's ever seen at the club. To which I replied you must be very young. We've had far worse in my time. Blush

Well done on having worse left backs.

At times like your defeat on Friday night it is always good to remember the really appalling players who have turned out for you in the past. We've had quite a few. I'm sure you must have your own collection. Perhaps supporters should set up their own Halls of Infamy. It could include a section on Moments We Would Love To Forget But Can't.

I left out Kusumu in my summary who looks as though he can play and he seemed to be trying. But he was nowhere near succeeding - 3/10.

As an outsider I got the feeling your players didn't want to be there - the pitch, the night, the cameras, the opposition, whatever!!!

When you take into account Tamworth's Centre Half works for Chesterfield. He's in charge of our juniors .......... And your forwards didn't trouble him ........ They really aren't that bad. Summut were up.

Miller had been ill all week apparently. That's why he didn't start.

How comes so many young, apparently fit footballers are ill? I can't remember missing an amateur game football, rugby or cricket due to illness. If you were a bit poorly you just went out and played.

It could have been worse, we could have been at home to Watford if we'd stayed up. Whistle
