Clubs a basket case from top to bottom, run by a boardroom of criminals and incompetents constantly in financial bother. Any serious manager would be off their chump to even think about it.... Which is why the 5th best manager in Qatar got the gig. Their dressing room is currently stuffed full of the pish pedro has brought in from mexico and portugal plus assorted scottish players of highly variable quality.

The place is becoming a graveyard for managers. fat sal, mcdowell, mccall, warbiola, mad pedro.... who's next ?

BUT is McInnes seriously wanting to add himself to that 'graveyard' of management failures? I base that comment on his non-committal interviews and wonder is he stupid enough to leave a good scene in Aberdeen to join this absolutely toxic footie club and it's group of very 'shady' and arrogant people who 'rule the roost' within this poisonous atmosphere in Govan that is devoid of honour and respectability!

Of course he is considering it!! I seriously doubt he sees them in the same light as you do but even if he did as a football manager he would be looking at it and imagining himself being the hero who turns them around and starts winning trophies again!!! Deluded from the outside maybe, but they all have an inner belief in themselves.

As I said at the end of my thread - no honour or respectability and to possibly go there and 'cross a red line' in disappointing Dons' fans, who will never have a likeable relationship with Rangers or their fans for obvious reasons, just endorses that criticism.

Hmmm.

I'm not so sure SCO, normally i'd say you are right. Mcinnes is a dyed in the wool hun, sleekit as they come and brimming with faux dignity. After they got thrashed by celtic midweek he seemed resigned that he couldn't bridge the gap, maybe he thinks he stands more of a chance with sevco.

However aberdeen are a club on the up,they have a new stadium in the works and increased attendances. He no long signed a new long term deal and he has a good relationship with the board there. He knocked back sunderland who could have paid him a lot more because he knew they were a shambles.

Sevco are not the same club as the one mcinnes played for back in the day. I'd say its no given that it should be that he will leave aberdeen.

I'm not saying he will take the job, but as an ex-Rangers man he has to be considering his options. Rangers are still the only club in Scotland who could potentially challenge Celtic, and while as things are going that is a long, long way off and may actually never happen again, most ex-Rangers guys would like to be the ones to make it a reality!!!

It might also be key what the Rangers board see as the minimum expectations they have, if its to challenge Celtic then there should be no sane manager going anywhere near that job because that is wholly unrealistic. But if there expectation is a European spot, maybe a couple of good cup runs and maybe to take one of them, then that might be far more attractive. They are not a good side currently, but will likely finish in the top 4 this season, and with a good manager who can be shrewd in the market, then Aberdeen are likely in their sights. Going to be interesting to see who they get and how much realism we see from the club and the new manager.

Laugh Laugh They might settle for 3rd or 4rth this season but they will want the title next year,no matter how deluded that ambition. Mcinnes has no chance of meeting their expectations. Certainly not with the problems they have off the field and the personnel in the boardroom.

Stuart Milne is in a quandary if mcinnes wants to go, he can't be made to look a xxxx over this to the fans especially with rangers, he will have to show the dons fans that they are getting a) good money and b) a decent calibre of replacement in the door.

It won't bother rangers if they can't meet the compensation, they will just use the same tactic they did with scott allan and us and try and cause as much hassle as they can for aberdeen.
