29/10/2016 : If Steve Bruce succeeds here at AVFC, there is nothing to prevent him eventually emulating his former boss, Sir Alex Ferguson.

31/10/2016 : The England Manager job will be hanging over our heads until the FA decide on the permanent successor to Sam Allardyce. The article below claims that Steve Bruce is 'effectively ruled out', but the England job is different to any Club job, so that claim cannot be taken as any form of guarantee that the FA will not offer the job to Steve Bruce. It could be Graham Taylor Mark II, but this time before our Manager has had the chance to get the job here done.

30/11/2016 : The FA have appointed Gareth Southgate as permanent England Manager on a 4 year contract that expires after Euro 2020.

No danger (hopefully) of AVFC losing Steve Bruce to England now.  Thumb up

18/12/2016 : El Car yesterday correctly defined a top team as a team whose Wins outnumber their other results.

Under Steve Bruce, Aston Villa now qualify as a top team. Unfortunately, SB's record is offset by the dismal start under Di Matteo, so we are currently mid-table, plus. Nevertheless, Steve Bruce is the only Manager (since and including MON) who has a top team record at AVFC.
Let this record continue onwards and upwards.
