Absolutely brilliant stuff from the Greeks there tonight. What a tribute for a tragically deceased colleague.

Bad news for themaclad, St Charles, Lord Snooty and ritchiebaby though. Rolleyes

I seem to have been the only one who wasn't forecasting an England win, and even I hedged my bets with a draw.

The emotion of the Greeks played a part, as did the fact that Pavlidis played far better than all our forwards put together. Now we know why Pep let Cole go ..... obviously he couldn't fit him into the same team as Foden either.

A false nine can only work if the forwards buy into it and take on the role of the nine from time to time. Otherwise all you get is absence - absence of any threat.

I don't understand all this false nine stuff. Football shouldn't be complicated.

Well clearly the England players didn't understand it last night either Snoots. Chesterfield under Gary Caldwell were more clued up ....... and most Junior School sides had a better understanding of the game than them!

Football is a simple game, and at its simplest it is also at its most beautiful.

Just noticed the Smogport v Wycombe game got postponed. Ritchiebaby and theo have badgers riding on this game, if you want to change them

I'm beginning to wonder what kind of editting is allowed on here. I hadn't removed my Laugh either (or had I posted one in the first place? Can't remember) Badger to be sorted

Cheers, Snooty. I may as well have Ronaldo scoring for Portugal as my substitute Badger

Thankfully, credit to Croatia and Chesterfield for removing the danger of a minus score this week.
