Here is a story that should go down as one of those quirks about the EU that make it undemocratic and look stupid on the world stage!!!

I don't know the background to this trade deal nor the pros and cons of it, but the ability of 3.6m French speaking Belgiums to be able to scupper an agreement that effects 508m people in the EU makes no sense!!!

As was stated in the article, this also doesn't bode well for the UK when it tries to broker a deal to exit the EU, and it does open up the the real possibility of the EU struggling to make any trade deals, good or bad, if the Wallonians happen to disagree with it!! The UK would also potentially though be better placed to make trade deals outside the EU when that time comes.
