Another chance to win our first home game since 23/2/2016 as we entertain a Cardiff City side who like us are not exactly setting the league on fire. There have been rumours on unhappiness in South Wales with accusations that the only is allegedly starting to asset strip the club in readiness for selling the club.
The appointment of Paul Trollope does not suggest as club with ambitions of getting to the Premiership, Trollope was not overly successful as manager at Bristol Rovers however he does have experienced Lennie Lawrence as his right hand man
Keeper Marshall has been sold, Le Fondre and Macheda have left, but they have brought Ricky Lambert, Emyr Hughes and Jazz Richards. They still have Peter Whittingham altough substitute yesterday and Anthony Pilkington who scored twice against us last season at their place in a match which they deservedly won. Last season was 0-0 at Deepdale.
Grayson needs a win, not only to kick start the season but to passify some of the clubs support following commenst apparently made on local radio regarding supporters not going if they do not like the football that is being played. Given that the opposition won't bring many and there is Champions League football on the box suspect less than 9000 will turn up.
Hopefully he will play 442 and if Doyle plays give him some support up front. Vital game this, a defeat will crank up the pressure on Larry, strange though in parts of the two home defeats I have seen we have played well in patches and deserved a bit more. Need to start putting away chances and no better time than to start against the Bluebirds and replicate the 6-0 victory a few seasons ago.
