The road to Wembley via Brighouse, Ashton, Salford, now heads north to Spennymoor for this 3rd qualifying round match.
Both teams play in the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier League, with Ashton in the Premier and Spennymoor in the First Division. The Moors are a fairly new club, being formed by the merger in 2005 of Evenwood Town and the disbanded Spennymoor United. They still play at United's ground though and the core of the supporter base is old United fans.
The big news for this match is the expected debut for Ashton of the ex Manchester Utd, WBA, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and HMP Strangeways player, Ronnie Wallwork. Now 37 years old, the tough tackling midfielder returns to the game after a short spell in prison for receiving stolen goods in 2011.
