pakistan gave us a lot of their wickets, had they batted properly and actually ran between the wickets then it would have been a new ball game as their spinners were getting sharp turn.

the england batters seemed to get starts but only taylor and buttler kicked on. hales looked a bit iffy against ifran. if he opens in SA against morkel he could well be found out quick. his feet dont move once hes faced a shorter ball or is waiting for the shorter ball. he never really got going today, i think he'll have to play a warm up game down there with cook or another opening option, not sure who like, doubt moeen will be tried again.
