Thanks, Kev. Your team played well first 2 games when we were not playing well. They were also in it last night until the 7th. I'm only glad that the final outcome of last night's game didn't rest on that controversial call in the top of the 7th when Odor (that guy again!) stole home after the home plate umpire had called the ball dead. Technically, I gather that it was correct to allow the run to stand but it would not have been a good way to end the series.
Now, to SCO and that unfortunate and blatantly incorrect comment: "Canadians have always had an inferiority complex when it comes to the US, and the Americans certainly know how to press the right buttons to get that complex to rise to the surface!!!!"
I can't afford to take this seriously. So, I'll treat it as a joke. Canadians for the record have no need to feel inferior when it comes to comparisons to the US. We are very proud of the culture we have, which is VERY different from that in the US and best to leave those differences unsaid.
What amuses Canadians is the level of ignorance shown by people in the US about who Canadians are, where we live and what we do. It's like one tweeter posted (this one made the national news as a smiling newscaster read it out): "I guess folk in US think we don't get out of our #igloos often enough to play baseball. Too busy throwing snowballs."
A well known Canadian comedian Rick Mercer used to run a show "Talking to Americans." Here's a clip from an episode. HILARIOUS!

So, when Reynolds made that baseball-catching comment, he might as well have been in Rick Mercer's footage.

"God Save the King."
