Really not sure what to think about this.
Sunderland seem to have failed miserably in their previous appointments and if nothing has changed - nothing seems to have, then this will only go one way:
- Big Sam keeps them up,
- Big Sam gets a huge bonus,
- Big Sam gets no funds in the summer
- Big Sam leaves the next year after a poor start.
In itself, Big Sam is not a bad choice of manager. Previous history with the club and a track record of hoof ball and survival. He'll do them road this season. But can't really see it changing things. I have a feeling that there needs to be a major change in ownership and backroom personnel before Sunderland break out of this painful 'groundhog day'.
