Race recap:
The motor racing community mourned the loss of another former f1 driver, holding a minute silence for Justin Wilson who died two weeks ago in an Indycar race after being hit on the head by crash debris.
Both Ferrari and Mercedes brought engine upgrades to this race, although Mercedes' upgrade is primarily to prepare to lay the groundwork for next season's engine rather than looking for an instant performance gain.
The first two qualifying sessions were spoilt by the expectation of huge grid penalties for all the Renault and Honda engined drivers, but then Ferrari managed to spring a surprise in the final session by splitting the two Mercedes drivers.
Raikkonen struggled to get off the line from second on the grid and dropped to last, luckily everyone managed to avoid his stationary car.
Rosberg also had a poor start again, slipping to sixth place.
Lotus's bad luck returned, both drivers unfortunate to retire on the opening lap from collisions that weren't their fault.
Hamilton scampered off into an easy lead, with Vettel on his own in second and then the two Williams of Massa and Bottas. Rosberg managed to overtake Perez and then undercut both Massa and Bottas at the pitstops (Williams once again showing their tactical naivety). Rosberg's hopes of chasing down Vettel ended when his power unit failed with just a few laps left, leaving his championship hopes in tatters and out of his own hands with a gap of 53 points to Hamilton.
Hamilton's win was initially in doubt after the race as the stewards deliberated over punishing the Mercedes drivers for illegal tyre presssures, but the investigation was dropped after Mercedes were able to show that the tyres were at the right pressure when fitted and the low pressure was only due to the tyres losing an unusually large amount of heat after the tyre warmers were unplugged.
Massa just held onto third place from his teammate Bottas. Raikkonen had a great recovery drive to fifth place.
The Force Indias of Perez and Hulkenburg were next in sixth and seventh respectively.
Ricciardo in the Red Bull placed eighth, overtaking Ericsson's Sauber at the final corner. Kvyat's Red Bull rounded out the points places in tenth.
