Rotherham United @ New York Stadium 18/8/2015

This was a joy of a match to watch tetchy niggly and averaged refereed, the tone was set when Garner was elbowed in the opening minutes should have been a booking for Halford it wasn't. We actually started well playing some nice stuff on the ground with really looking threatening up front.
Rotherham offered little but gradually began to come more into the game looking slightly dangerous down the right hand side with Maguire looking lively.
As the half worn up tempers started to fray especially after Johnson was advancing on goal was hacked down by Halford with the ball nowhere in site, Johnson was then booked for an innocuous tackle which led to a trading of views especially as the ball was then kicked at Johnson. Garner was also booked after a loud scream of pain by Halford after an aerial collision.
The second half was better Garner was nearly gifted a goal by the very uncertain Roos in the United goal and Keane possibly should have hit the target from 18 yards but fired narrowly wide.
Two substitutions pepped up the home side which finally woke the home fans from their slumber, balls were whacked into the box from all angles but in the main the defence and Pickford dealt with these without major alarms.
Towards the end both sides pushed for the winner with a Wright header hitting the bar for North End but it ended goalless. North End were
not at their best giving away possession far too easily at times Gallagher had a shocker but will take 4 points from the two away games played.
An interesting journey home, south down the M1 east on the M18, west on the M18 and then North on the M1, you just can't beat night time motorway journeys.

Rotherham United 0 Preston North End 0 Att 9000

Rotherham manager Steve Evans: "We will take our first point. The first 60 minutes is not a good game for either side, no side had any dominance, both sides just cancelled each other out.
"That's a good Preston side out there. They had some heroic defending in their box, balls across the goal, they have had some heroic defending without the goalkeeper being called on.
"We have to take our point, get back on the training ground and get ready for QPR, which will be difficult but every game is difficult in this league. We know every point in this league is an achievement."
Preston manager Simon Grayson: "When you come to a place like this you have to make sure you fight and compete, and that's what we did.
"We turned over possession a little too easily but when we kept it we looked like we could be a major threat.
"It's another game for us and another clean sheet and an opportunity for the players to grow in confidence with another positive result."
