Surely they could link up with one of the NA broadcasters to show the Sky Sports channels. That would give the ex-pats, and I'm sure there's quite a few, access to the FL, Cricket, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Darts, Speedway etc plus all those European leagues you mentioned Wash Plus the Irish FL that would go down well in New York
The two big satellite providers here are DISH and Direct TV. TBH i've no idea what soccer and other non NBA, NHL, NFL and MLB sports they carry and just stuck with the cable phone/internet/tv bundle at a given level of subscription. They are sneaky and put interesting (and I don't mean Playboy TV) channels in with a bunch of dross and it costs an arm and two legs to get the full monty. Even getting the mexcian sports coverage that would give more football options would involve a gazillion spanish speaking soaps, quiz shows and crazy Benny Hiil type comedies.
As SCO and Stateside will attest there can be 500 channels listed and FA to watch.
I spend a lot of time watching BBC America and Public Broadcasting so we can watch quality TV programs !!!
South Park did a full episode on it called "Informative Murder Porn". Companies make it near enough impossible to cancel as well, Sky have been a bastard for cancelling my Mum's TV, Internet and phone by giving each a differing cancellation date and making it so that she has to pay another months Internet and phone by stalling her for a day
sneaky fúcks these big comanies
