Totally true but I think he was always going to put himself in an awkward position given that he's primarily identified as a British player. There will undoubtedly be tennis fans out there who will now refuse to support him or will even turn against him because of this. I think too many people feel the need to nail their political colours to the mast (though this doesn't just apply to celebrities).
Actually, has anything good ever come from a celebrity Twitter account?
Exactly no matter what way he backed it would put him in an awkward position and he would have got stick off Yes voters if he decided No. I don't think anything has come good from any celebrity on Twitter or any social media site.
I will still support him and would have still supported him if Scotland had gone independent. If Scotland or Ireland or Wales were in the World Cup and England weren't then I would support them and hope they do well. I don't understand why certain people hate the Scots, I don't hate the Scots I think there great people same goes for the Irish. There's too much hate in the World. There's nothing wrong in having healthy rivalry and banter but I would say a small minority take it too far.
The same goes for football if your team is playing against there rivals, you see grown men fighting over football its sad, pathetic and embarrassing no one likes to lose to there rivals but you don't fight about it, its just a game somethings are more important.
