THE LAST MATCH
Another hugely disappointing home game saw us take the lead against L**ds but concede two goals to lose 2-1. They were poor on the day, we seemed to be worse!! So our home games are done, and thankfully we can put this season behind us with just one away game to go. The pitch was blamed for a lot of our poor performances at home this season, well it has paid the ultimate price by being dug up already and replaced with a much newer model!!! Not be able to use that excuse next season Stuart!!!
THE MATCH - SAT 2ND MAY 2015 12.15PM UK TIME
So we arrive at the final game of the season, away to Watford. They have been near the top of the table nearly all season and finally got themselves over the line last week to secure promotion to the Prem. They have been good for a few seasons now but just fallen short, but this season they finally made it. It will be a party atmosphere at Vicarage Road, irrespective of the result, so hopefully we can put on a decent display and some of our players can get to see what it is like to win promotion and you never know maybe we can use this experience as motivation for next season.
This will be the 47th meeting between us with our record being W15 D9 L22, so they have definitely had the upper hand. In fact we have only won 3 times out of the last 15 meetings, so we shouldn't be too sad about seeing them leave us next season!! Earlier in the season they beat us 3-0 at S6 in a game where we were never in it and a game that Gary Madine actually started in!! Last time we played at Vicarage Road we actually won 1-0, with Wickham getting the winner with a direct free kick, would be nice to repeat that result and at least go into the summer with a win!!
CLASSIC MATCH
We only played Watford for the first time in 1970 and aside from a couple of decent wins by each team, none of them we classics that I can remember so no video this week to show!! Instead, in honour of our last trophy in a season that we last got promoted to the Prem lets look back at the semi-final games against the current Premier League Champions to be from this season, Chelsea!! Enjoy the Didwell Wilson line in the 2nd leg!!!!!
