Scotland's topsy-turvy form continued today when they were soundly beaten 4-10 by Sweden. They started off fairly well but lost 6 shots in the 3rd and 4th ends and when they then lost 3 shots in the 6th end they gladly conceded the game. Probably glad to get off the ice, that is. The first 3 players from each team all scored in the 90s, but Bruce Mouat only scored 69%, a figure that even I could reach - on a good day!
The second game for Scotland was a much tighter affair against United States, with never more than 2 shots in it for either team. The decisive end was the 8th, when the Scots scored 3 shots to lead 7-5 to take the advantage into the last 2 ends and they ended up 8-6 winners.
Scotland now move up to 7 wins, alongside Switzerland, both 1 win behind Canada and 1 win in front of China, Czechia and Sweden. Nothing is settled yet and there could still be a lot of movement in the battle for the Top Six.
No time for chocolate biscuits as the Scots complete their round robin games against Germany at 4pm tomorrow (also a live transmission on BBC Sport website and BBC i-Player) and finally a potentially make-or-break game against China at 2 am on Saturday morning.
