England got their day off to a stunning start by beating Hungary 8-7 with 4 shots in the last end. They had been 1-5 down after 5 ends but came back in spectacular fashion. Their final game against Korea was equally exciting and again scoring 4 shots in the last end, but fell just short, losing 10-11. The scores were tied at 6-6 after 5 ends but Korea got far enough in front in the 6th and 7th ends. It was a valiant attempt at qualification and they certainly gave everything they had to rescue the game. England finished with 3 wins and 3 losses.
Scotland came good at the right time to defeat Spain 9-6 to reach 4 wins and qualification, finishing 2nd behind Korea. They were 2-5 down after 4 ends but dominated the rest of the game.
