I phoned a friend and I was left hanging on the telephone ... so here's the answers to one section I've come up with. I've ignored Snoots's answers as he was clearly picking names out of a hat
Lets broaden it a touch, here is Football
1) which player scored the first goal of the 2024/2025 Premier league season? The one after the guy that scored the last goal of last season? Vaguely remember there was a game on Friday for some reason when they normally play them Saturday/Sunday and one on Monday. I'd have to Google who so I'll pass on this one.
2) which two players became the youngest and oldest scorers in euros history this summer? Ronni 7's grandson and Ronnie 7? Or was he the oldest player to cry in a match?
3) which English side were the first to change manager this season? Both Ends were the first to dump theirs (or he walked out) in August.* Does that count as a full change or only half a change?
4) what record was broken in the turkey v Czechia game at this summer's euros? Most cheques bounced in 90 minutes of basting? Fewest spectators (empty stadium?) due to earlier argy bargy?
5) which player won the PFA players player of the year? There's a Blue Mancs theme to this, I was tempted to go Haaland but I think it was Foden
6) and who won young player of the year? an ex Blue Manc now at Chelski (who aren't Chelski anymore realy are they) Cole Palmer
7) who finished as top scorer in the wsl for the season 2023-2024? Don't know but have Town offered her a contract yet?
8) sticking with the wsl, who became the most expensive player when she moved clubs at the end of summer, breaking the world record at the time. Umm, pass.
9) back to the men's game, which manager was the first to lose his job in 2024 overall? Etherington - Colchester*
10) who did Burnley sign for an EFL record fee this summer. Only for him to not make an appearance so far? This is Lancastria again. Sorry, but I don't follow furrin football too closely. You're gonna tell me now he is a real furriner aren't you?
