One must ask the question, "Could this be David Gray's last match as manager of Hibs first team"??? There is no doubt in my mind that tomorrow's game at ER Stadium is a winnable one, esp after watching Hibs recent previous display v United at Tannadice that should never have ended so badly. However, David Gray is fast looking like a Hibs manager who can't find a win, no matter what he says or does. The most glaring aspect about his current team is the fact I don't see any great enthusiasm or zest attached to lots of players in this Hibs side. As said in a previous thread a while ago - there are lots of players in this Hibs team who look like they are "getting a game" and that's it!!! I want to see Hibs players who genuinely celebrate scoring a goal with a bit of gusto about them; also "hi-fiving" re a crucial goal blocking tackle, or similar, wouldn't go amiss. There's nothing there in my humble opinion, not even a proper Hibs captain! And David Gray has had months to engender that kinda positive team spirit and genuine enthusiasm to play in matches and enjoy them. Also his highly questionable choice of certain poor players still prevails. For example, I'm baffled why he hasn't "rested" Bursik and at least tried to play an older goalie, Smith, in that position. Also playing Miller for weeks is baffling when any fool can see the Aussie is an extremely poor defender who is not gonna improve - also in need of a rest or just drop him altogether??? Anyway, here's hoping somebody enthusiastically "steps up to the plate" and starts scoring the requisite goals or Gray's position becomes untenable. IMO he needs a win; not a draw - A WIN!!! Hibs, as a reputable footie club, just can't continue "in this vein" for much longer as it becomes more n more insulting to loyal Hibs fans who have been really patient in the face of watching this scenario gradually unfold, and are still showing up/backing Hibs to somehow come through this crisis.
