Plymouth Argyle have signed free agent goalkeeper Marko Marosi on a short-term deal.
The 30-year-old Slovakian comes in as cover for the injured Conor Hazard and will stay at Home Park until at least January 2025.
The former Wigan Athletic, Doncaster Rovers and Coventry City player had spent the last three seasons at Shrewsbury Town, where he played 147 games.
He will provide competition for new signing Daniel Grimshaw in Hazard's absence.
“When we knew the severity of Conor’s injury, we moved quickly to bring in a goalkeeper who could strengthen the group," Argyle head coach Wayne Rooney told the club website., external
“We are really pleased to bring Marko to the club, he has good experience and the attributes we were looking for.
“He will challenge Daniel for the shirt but is also another seasoned professional for our crop of young goalkeepers to learn from as well.”
Marosi has signed in time to be available for Argyle's Championship game at home to leaders Sunderland on Saturday.
