I don’t get the impression that he wants to leave (although I’m sure he’d be offered a substantial increase in his salary) but rather it’s another injection of capital to sort out the sh*t show left by the previous owner. Let’s face it, if he goes to Southampton he’ll probably play against us next season
I have to give this some legs to this as a newly promoted club they need prospects like Tom, reasonably priced in Premiership terms, but has the potential to be a revelation, personally I don't think he is quite ready for the step up, though he is very close. In all honesty I'll be disappointed if he goes he goes, but if he stays, I have to think it is just delaying the inevitable, as I think we can all see he has something special. I think the most important bit of any deal for him, is a stupid sell on clause, as I can see him at big money in the near future and if you look at a much smaller valued player like O'Shea, we sold him for £7million, he is now moving again for a deal worth £20 million, OK we stand to make a £1 million out of it, but it could have been more. I see future Fellow's sales with the potential of making £20 million, look like pocket change, I see a player who has the potential to be better than the likes of Raheem Sterling in his heyday, if he keeps his feet on the ground. I have always prided myself in the ability to see future top players, some on here might remember calling me a bit daft (nicely), when I was suggesting we should put a big bid (up to £500,000 if memory serves) in for a young 16 year old lad at Blues named Jude Bellingham.
