Firstly positives a wins a win albeit against a vastly understrength Sunderland but still a win, might have been different if they had got their efforts on target instead of trying to kill their supporters in the second half(credit to the numbers they brought)

Then a miracle happened we located the net, great works by Mads FJ nad Potts down the right, potts ball into the box found the onrushing Ledson who put in an abysmal shot luckily it his a defender and sent Moore the wrong way and boom we are back on our way to world footballing dominance.
Second period thought Sunderland played some decent football looked quick on the break and pressed well but we looked the more likelyand so it proved with about 20 to go, Mads FJ did well to avoid tackles before firing home from 20 yards. Never had the feeling they would come back from that. Could have added others Greenwood's super free kick was header over by Lindsay and at the end Osmajic's shot hit the post
A wins a win but might be slightly when they send the first team in October.
MARSH MUSINGS
Mike Marsh said he “couldn’t be happier” with how his first match in interim charge went, as Preston North End progressed to the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Goals from Ryan Ledson and Mads Frøkjær – who were both brought into the starting XI – earned the victory over Sunderland at Deepdale.
Following the departure of Ryan Lowe on Monday, Marsh has stepped in, with the help of Ched Evans and Peter Murphy, to take over for at least this fixture and Saturday’s match against Swansea City.
Marshy said: “I couldn’t be happier to be fair. It was important that we got a win. We’ve not won for a while, have we?
“Obviously with the circumstances with Ryan leaving, it’s been an emotional couple of days. To come out and play like that, score a couple of goals – and we should possibly have had a couple more – and keep a clean sheet, it just gives everyone a lift.
“I think everyone’s been a little bit low on confidence and to win the game 2-0 [was pleasing]. I know Sunderland had a much-changed team, but we played Salford last year and got knocked out didn’t we, so they’re always difficult games these so I’m delighted.”
Marshy first arrived at the club in December 2021 alongside Ryan Lowe, and the pair have worked together closely for the past two and a half years.
The last couple of days have therefore understandably been difficult for the former Liverpool midfielder, but he was happy to step up to fill the void for at least the interim.
He said: “It’s been really tough. It’s one of the toughest things I’ve had to do. I’m really close with Ryan, I didn’t know Ryan before I came in, but we’ve gotten really close over the past two and a half years and to see him in the situation that he was in, it was understandable that he left.
“We were all emotional yesterday when he said his goodbyes. It’s been a difficult couple of days but Peter’s asked me to stand in and take the team for a couple of games to help him out.
“We’ll take it from there. I’d just like to say from me, the staff, the players that we’ve got nothing but kind words to say about Ryan. He’s been brilliant to all of us and it’s a shame the way it’s ended.”
North End’s second round opponents will be confirmed on Wednesday night and the team will in the meantime turn attentions to the weekend’s trip to Swansea City.
Marshy was on the coaching staff with the Swans a few years back, but will be putting those memories aside when he takes his North End team to South Wales.
He said: “Peter’s asked me to take the team for two games so I’ve definitely got one more, and if we beat Swansea, I might get another one.
“I had a great time at Swansea. I met some lovely people down there. I’ve got some great friends but nothing would please me more than to go down there, turn them over and get three points on the board.”

Régis Le Bris took heart from his side’s character following tonight’s Carabao Cup exit at Preston North End.
The Frenchman made XI changes from the side that dispatched Cardiff City on Saturday in the Lads’ first game of the Sky Bet Championship season.
Goals from Ryan Ledson and Mads Frøkjær were enough to see off a much-changed Black Cats side, which saw Simon Moore debut in red and white and Pierre Ekwah bank his first minutes since picking up an injury in pre-season.
The 48-year-old also handed a debut to youngster Harrison Jones while fellow Academy graduate Tommy Watson also came off the bench in the second 45.
Speaking to safc.com post-match, Le Bris was quick to reflect on the positives as his much-changed side battled until the last while highlighting the importance of how tonight’s experience will aid their development.
“It was a good opportunity for players who weren’t involved at Cardiff to show their capabilities against a strong team,” he said.
“Preston played with their first team - their strongest team.
“We had good moments and we didn’t give up until the end so, for me, it is good for the mindset of the team.
“We made some mistakes. This kind of team on set pieces is very strong so the mistakes we made caused us to be unbalanced and we conceded goals on these occasions.
“They need experiences to grow so obviously when they play together it is never easy,” he continued.
“Today we had a lack of experience but in the end it is a real opportunity to grow.
“It is a long process when you are talking about the development of the players. We are disappointed because we lost but it is another step towards improvement.”
