A true left wouldn't have welcomed Stalin's authoritarianism or totalitarianism in the form of medieval laws on free speech. Allowing the government to arbitrarily determine your intent and lock you up.

A true left would be steadfast in pressuring Stalin for better wages and working conditions. For corporations and the elite to pay taxes.
