Oxford United have signed Wales midfielder Will Vaulks after he rejected a new deal at Sheffield Wednesday.
The 30-year-old, who has won seven Wales caps, has signed what Oxford describe as a "long-term contract".
Vaulks has played 77 league games since moving to Hillsborough two years ago from Cardiff City.
He helped the Owls win the League One play-off final last year and has played almost 500 games in a career that has seen him play in England, Scotland and Wales.
"Will brings a level of quality and experience to the squad which will be crucial as we embark on a new challenge in the Championship," head coach Des Buckingham told the club website., external
“He knows what it takes to be successful at this level, and on the international stage, and his leadership qualities will be a key component for the new season.
“Ultimately, Will brings real quality to us on the pitch, and he will be an important player in our midfield going forward.”
Vaulks is Oxford's first signing of the summer.
Oxford United have signed West Ham United goalkeeper Jacob Knightbridge on an undisclosed contract.
The 20-year-old will join the U's on a free transfer when his deal with the Hammers expires on July 1.
Knightbridge is a product of the West Ham academy and featured on the bench for a handful of their Europa League games last season.
“As a young player you want to come to a club that has an ambition and I’m happy to be part of that now," Knightbridge said.
“It’s an opportunity to come to a Championship club where hopefully whether it’s this year or next year I can play for Oxford and cement my career in football.
BBC Radio Oxford understand that Knightbridge has signed a long-term deal and is considered a future prospect by the Championship club, with the possibility of a loan move at the start of his U's career.
“The idea is to come here and eventually play for this football club," he added.
"Whether that’s staying and trying to do that this season or going out on loan. But the end goal is to become number one at Oxford and I hope to achieve that."
