Not too many surprises I wouldn’t think; offering Bartley a new contract is, I feel, sensible if we’re unsure about Kipre’s intentions, although I’m hoping both he and Mowatt will re-sign. Obviously the loan players have to go back but I wonder if we might try to sign Johnson, particularly if the speculation about Diangana returning to West Ham is true, as it would provide the necessary funds. Not sure how I feel about Grady leaving, if it was to happen; I know there has been general disappointment with his performances but I’ve always liked him and always thought he offered us something a bit different.
Yeah Steve - Grady is a strange one isn't he.
With the obvious talent that he has, he can very often disappoint, but he's always likely to spark something.
I don't know..... I DO like the 'unpredictable' like him, but maybe he's just not produced enough consistently...?
Difficult one!
You’re probably right, Drewks; he has been inconsistent but if anyone can get him playing - and I think this past season we’ve seen more of the “old” Grady - it’s Corberan. However, given a choice between him and Johnston (I appreciate that’s hypothetical), I'd take Johnston
Yeah.
Going on to your last point about Johnston, it seems to me that he had a 'fire in his belly', a point to prove, etc etc.... and that's why we maybe saw the player we did.
It begs the question - why don't ALL professional players have that desire to be the best they can be, in every game?!!
I think we all know the answer, unfortunately - big egos, big wage packet no matter what, no club loyalty, etc etc. Only the odd manager (oooo sorry, Head Coach) like Klop seems to be able to motivate most players in every game.
Shocking!!
