The "extremists" are actually PM Sunak and the desperate Tory-GB-Brexit charlatans (incl the sycophantic Scot Tory non-entity DROSS + the useless Sec of State for Scotland Union Jack) who feed this drivel for him to utter. Their problem, together with the Unionist Labour Party, is they still can't come to terms with the fact the Scotindy movement is "alive and kicking" and gradually becoming stronger. IMO the Scotnat/Scotindy movement have won the argument when it becomes apparent its detractors are reduced to childish name-calling like this latest needless verbal attack that has been rightly condemned as absurd and worthy of an apology.
