After some of the dire stuff witnessed hoe and away this was entirely different a tremondous game with the result in doubt until the final whistle. Backed by a noisy 3500 Ipswich stuck to their principles of attack, attack, attack although they were let down by some iffy defending.
Should have been one up in the first minute, Mads lobbed pass to Millar first time shot sliced wide, personally thought he should have done better, didn't matter by the eighth minute we were two up, might have been a foul on the first the sc=econd looked offside although highlights showed Clarke probably played Riis on side, both goals majestically bang in by Edmondson although the first from Keane's shot would not have troubled the keeper until it hit the defender, the second did well too catch up with Riis and took the decision to help the striker out by putting the ball past his own keeper. Not quite the start the visitors wanted.
Town responded by pining us back for long periods possibly over played in front of goal, whilst at the back Hladky their keeper was ofetn found to be 50 yards from goal setting up attacks. Plenty of the ball but they didn't really threatne to score cannot remember Woodman being tested only a Clarke effort that went wide of the far post.
Five mintes before half time it's 3-0 dradful pass from the keeper to Morsy loses ball to Mads tries to win it back but only sets up Keane to slot home, dream land now it all depended on fantastic's half time talk would it be drop deep and defend at all costs in teh second period.
It was but mainly due to Town forcing us back, having brought on big lad Moore at half time it changed the pattern of the game, one way only to the home net, did well to survive the onslaught got lucky when a free kick from Davies pinged off the post.
Sould have been four when a shocker of an error by Hladky almost let Mads in although he claimed a penalty the keeper did manage to get an arm to the ball and clear it, Mads was less than impressed with the decision and was still whinging about it when he was substituted.
As always Fantastic's substitutions tend to make things worse and sure enough Moore heads in at the back post from Davis cross to the back post, ad the feeling this wasn't a consolation.
Sure enough three minutes from the end a scramble great save by Woodman to deny Al Hamadi ball ran loose to Moore 3-2.
Moore header welll saved by Woodman and a Hutchinson effort narrowly over the top, just about hung on to the win against a very good side, one thing never changes though Woodman made his obligatory appearance as a sub in teh 94th minute
Preston boss Ryan Lowe told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"I thought the lads were fantastic from start to finish in everything they did.

"First half was great because we scored goals and went in 3-0 but you always know a good team like Ipswich are going to come out and fight, and they did.

"Bringing on a player like Kieffer Moore can cause you problems, they were a little bit more direct, but I thought our lads dealt with large parts of it very well.

"Obviously, the goals [conceded] were disappointing, but it doesn't really matter because we've got three points."

Ipswich head coach Kieran McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk:

"When you concede two unfortunate goals in the first eight or nine minutes, it's the worst situation it could be because Preston can then defend their box with a lot of bodies.

"Our play in the final third wasn't at the level we want it to be but that was exaggerated by the scoreline which dictated the tone and feel of the game.

"In the second half, we produced a really good performance which deserved to get something out of the game.

"His [Moore] impact was there for all to see, he was excellent. I don't think it would have been right [to start him], he hasn't even trained with the group."
