New deal for manager
#2
Northampton Town manager Jon Brady has renewed his rolling contract.

Brady, 49, who has been in charge since February 2021, signed a rolling deal a year ago but has now been given improved terms by the League One club.

"I'm thrilled to sign a new contract," said the Australian, who led the Cobblers to automatic promotion in May.

"Anyone who knows me, knows how proud I am to be the manager of Northampton Town. Together we have taken the club forward over the last few years."

The former Brackley Town manager, who played for Rushden & Diamonds, Woking, Chester City, Stevenage Borough, Hereford United, Cambridge United and Kidderminster Harriers, added: "I see this town and this county as my adopted home.

"I am sure the fans know my passion for the club. There is a strong bond between us and that is something I am very appreciative and respectful of."

"The club has moved forward strongly both on and off the pitch in the last three years and Jon has led that on-field progress superbly," Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas said.

"We had a renegotiation clause in Jon's old contract for the end of this current season but we all felt this was a good time to bring those discussions forward."

Brady was officially confirmed as the Cobblers boss in May 2021, having initially taken over as caretaker boss three months before following the sacking of Keith Curle.

The Cobblers currently sit ninth in League One, 12 points shy of the play-off places and 14 points clear of trouble.
