Fingers crossed the players at least put some pride on tonight's performance and win it 3-1 or something.
No miracles are happening, we aren't 'that team'.
We're dull, lifeless and barely able to execute the basics of Football.
I would hope Moore has found a way to neutralise their left and right backs bombing down the flanks when they attack.
They were the cause of 3 goals in the end, two from assists and one scored the deflected shot.
Sadly, I doubt Moore reviewed this or even alerted the players awareness to this danger.
It's likely he hasn't even noticed this himself.
It's easy for Ferguson tonight because we absolutely have to attack.
So his sit back and counter style by pushing the ball wide to the flanks will get behind our back 3 almost every time. Especially with Awful at the back.
This is the inevitability of being a poor tactician with no plan B or ability to make in game changes in real time as situations become visible..
His rigid 352 is too easy to dismantle.
The players aren't allowed to deviate from the holy shape meaning all the opposition needs to do is play into the areas where our players will not be due to the shape of the formation, this is why you often see us just backing off away from players
that are running at us with the ball lol (Watch Posh tonight making predictive forward passes into spaces in our half, knowing/expecting the player in that position to move backwards to keep 'the holy shape' rather than move forward to close the ball and opposition player down)
It is also why opposition players continually find so much space and easily get behind us down the flanks, how many times are we caught with just 3 at the back because the midfield isn't dropping deep to help?
His own tactics don't fit his own system. Resulting in a grind, every single game.
It's dumbfounding and I cannot believe the waggon is filling back up with 'More Moore' for another season.
We really are settling for and rewarding failure, mediocrity and lack of ambition.
Sunderland talking about sacking Mowbray because they didn't achieve back to back promotions.
Meanwhile we're rewarding this buffoon for back to back failures
Surely the gulf in ambition here between two Clubs that were in the same Playoffs last season should worry the fans but no, they want more??
