Brexit only really returns to the media spotlight when there’s not much else to report on. It was in oblivion when the pandemic came, then the constant stream of Boris Johnson scandals, during the excruciating contest for the next Tory leader, and of course the carcrash that was Truss.
From Labour shortages to empty shelves; enormous queues at ferry ports to higher inflation rates than any country in the G7; the abolition of the Erasmus programme ( a particular bugbear of mine) to hundreds of billions lost to the country.... Yeah i want to see politicians of all colours trotted out and confronted with this shit sandwich whenever they can be instead of it being buried.
The next election won't be about Brexit ffs, don't be daft. Even Starmer doesn't want to talk about it when its impact present an open goal for him, just in case it upsets the eejits in swing seats that voted for it. If it wasn't for FPTP i reckon he would be singing a different song.
