Well unlike Andy Murray, who had the misfortune to be playing at the same time as tennis legends Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, Emma appears to be arriving just at the right time.
Since Serena's dominance of the women's game seems to be more or less over, there isn't anybody who looks like they can win two Grand Slams in a row.
Osaka has won 4, Barty and Halep have a couple each. But over the last 17 Grand Slams since Serena last won, there have been 11 different winners.
Why not an 18 year old, born of Romanian and Chinese parents in Canada, but representing the country she grew up in, winning one in New York?
