I agree with Ritchie, but I accept the problem of having a close result and half the country unhappy about the decision.

I've had to put up with Brexit, even though I strongly disagreed with it and its had an impact on my work life already. So yeah, anything over 50% will do.

I'd also expect the country to be consulted on rejoining the EU if we gain independence - or whether we take up another option like EEA/EFTA.
